I've not tested extensively, but I've had a quick go and it worked in some simple tests. We've mainly been using LTS to validate this new build. Hope that helps
Hey Matthew, sincerest apologies mate, I got a bit distracted over the past month with stuff, both life and work related.
Good news is we have a new version coming out, I've sent you a link to try it out, lots of fixes for glitchy behaviour. If that doesn't fix your issue, or you'd rather me look into it, please reply with a time that suits and we can work out what's going on live.
No problem Matt :) I honestly love CGI, 3d and all that, but more to the point I love helping people make their art/work more pleasant.
FYI we're in Australia so we're just starting our day now, so if my replies are sometimes 12 hours or so after you post, it might be due to timezone differences, its definitely not that I'm ignoring you xD
Hi Matt, I'll take a look at your file, often we find that problems like this tend to go away after we carefully go through the setup with you. We're trying to iron this out so it works first time every time, but unfortunately we keep running into bugs, there will be some important updates before the end of August (hopefully) that will address some pretty serious ones, can't tell yet if they are affecting you.
Sit tight, we'll know pretty soon if its your file that causes issues. The add ons you have look pretty benign in terms of compatibility.
Hi James, Thanks for the fast response.. Would it help if I made available my blender File that I was trying to render? I can send you a dropbox link. The file is pretty basic. I made it a few weeks ago. I do have a texture in it that that I have packed into the file. This is the part that is not coming back with the node render parts. I have other files also with ton's of materials and textures and all sorts and when I try those I get nothing back at all.. I have set up a dropbox link where you can look at the simple file that is causing the problem. hopefully this will help. https://www.dropbox.com/s/wezbnjuw6xbrnm6/Farm%20test%202%20neon.blend?dl=0
Also this one I got nothing back. again, its not that complex of a file. Again alll the elements are packed in the file.
Also I have added some other add-ons on my main workstation, Polygon Texture Add-on and also One from a site I purchased a 3d model and 2 other little add-ons I was recommended during tutorials. none of them I would think would interact with the processing of rendering but I haven't loaded then on my node stations. Nodes are both Macs at the moment. not very impressive CPU and not much ram. Tomorrow I am picking up a PC that has a better graphics card to add that into the mix...
The only other note at this early stage of troubleshooting is that the renders work perfect in a normal render but even when I use your add - on and disable the external nodes, I still get blank tiles back...
I haven't gone into the tile panels and set them to anything for any of the computers as I don't fully understand what that all means. They are on default =0 for both Tile = x & Tile = y
Any insights would be very helpful, I was really hoping that this would work as I have 3 computers now that sit there and do nothing else...
G'day Matthew, hope you're well, I understand you're probably feeling a lot of frustration, sorry about that, not intentional.
Ok so first issue, you're not getting tiles back, without knowing the exact steps you took to render, its hard to assist you, but we'll try. But we'll need some background on what you did to get to this point.
Second, our website is in flux, and I get that isn't very transparent, again, apologies for the confusion. We're stuck between providers right now, we went with wix to build our main website, but it became clear it wasn't suitable for what we needed, so we built our own system for managing the software downloads, accounts, mail outs and render credit, payments etc.
So the issue with the site is likely that you've created an account to post in this forum, and an account to download the software, which is clear since you've done both of those things.
The forum and your account for downloading the software are two different things. We of course don't enjoy having it this way. Since we're community funded we're doing our best to upgrade both the add-on and the website, but its taking time.
I'll be making a more concerted effort to better document the addon and the website, you're not the only one who's felt frustration and we're on it, its a matter of time at the moment which we're trying to be wise how we spend it as there are a lot of things to improve. Right now we're working on some major upgrades to the current addon to remove problems where it doesn't work 'out of the box'.
I am very keen to look into why you experienced what you did since lots of folk get the addon to work (and lots don't) so I would like to investigate and get to the bottom of what happened.
Also what's up with this site? I signed up with my email address as login and password. Verified with the email and now I can't log in without using my google details. ??
No Solution for this? This software really sucks. I am having all sorts of similar problems. I loaded the add-on today and have spent all day trying to get it to work. Most of the time (depending on what project ) I just get a blank render result during and at the end of the render. Another project the brick texture didn't render out on the parts sent to other 2 nodes. I have packed everything into the file before sending..
Ok, I tried an empty project. redering a default cube. it sometimes works, but syncing fails a lot too. problems like partial renders on screen..
I got it working 1 time. I loaded an empty blender project file. with crowdrender enabled, but removed the client pc from client pc Blender nodes. The client instance of Blender listed itself as a node. Perhaps ther should be a check to prevent/guide this setup.
Hey James, I got your message with the Link. Will the new version work with Blender 2.9 ?
Hi James,
Just wanted to check in and see if you had any luck figuring out why your Add-on wasn't working with my renders?
Sweet as bro :)
No worries, I am in NZ so only a couple hours ahead of you. 😀
No problem Matt :) I honestly love CGI, 3d and all that, but more to the point I love helping people make their art/work more pleasant.

Thanks James. Appreciate you taking the time to look into this for me.

p.s. these are the Add-ons I currently have on in my software.

Ok, question, did you create this project before using crowd render or after you had connected to your other node?
