Hello I’ve finally got round to trying out Crowdrender, it seemed to work OK till I tried a multi layer EXR render, it does the first frame then stops with the following message- Traceback (most recent call last): File "/Users/jamesmac/Desktop/cr_compile/releases/multi OS releases/crowdrender/src/cr/ui_operators.py", line 1106, in modal AssertionError location: <unknown location>:-1 I had enabled the ‘enable layers/passes checkbox, but still no joy, it seems to lock up Blender as well. When I hit the ‘make compositor nodes’ button I get this error as well- Traceback (most recent call last): File "/Users/jamesmac/Desktop/cr_compile/releases/multi OS releases/crowdrender/src/cr/ui_operators.py", line 114, in invoke File "/Users/jamesmac/Desktop/cr_compile/releases/multi OS releases/crowdrender/src/cr/ui_operators.py", line 120, in execute File "/Users/jamesmac/Desktop/cr_compile/releases/multi OS releases/crowdrender/src/cr/recombine_multi_exr.py", line 376, in create_renderlayer_nodes File "/Users/jamesmac/Desktop/cr_compile/releases/multi OS releases/crowdrender/src/cr/recombine_multi_exr.py", line 209, in create_node_network KeyError: 'bpy_prop_collection[key]: key "local:0001.exr" not found' location: <unknown location>:-1 I’ll try the scene with a simple combined saver and see if it works without passes/layers... Also I can’t activate the addon at all on one of my machines: an old Asus laptop (i7-3610QM CPU / 16Gb ram / GT630M GPU / Win10 Home), I get the following when I try to hit the enable check box in User Prefs once I've installed Crowdrender- Traceback (most recent call last): File "C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.79\scripts\modules\addon_utils.py", line 350, in enable mod.register() File "C:\Users\mark\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.79\scripts\addons\crowdrender\__init__.py", line 99, in register cr_source.register() File "C:\Users\mark\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.79\scripts\addons\crowdrender\src\__init__.py", line 76, in register cr_version.register() File "C:\Users\mark\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.79\scripts\addons\crowdrender\src\bl_2_79\__init__.py", line 1020, in register initialiser.register_package() File "C:\Users\mark\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.79\scripts\addons\crowdrender\src\bl_2_79\__init__.py", line 292, in register_package self.cr_import() File "C:\Users\mark\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.79\scripts\addons\crowdrender\src\bl_2_79\__init__.py", line 225, in cr_import from . import settings File "/Users/jamesmac/Desktop/cr_compile/releases/multi OS releases/crowdrender/src/cr/settings.py", line 46, in <module> File "/Users/jamesmac/Desktop/cr_compile/releases/multi OS releases/crowdrender/src/cr/utils.py", line 45, in <module> File "C:\Users\mark\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.79\scripts\addons\crowdrender\lib\Win64\zmq\__init__.py", line 47, in <module> from zmq import backend File "C:\Users\mark\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.79\scripts\addons\crowdrender\lib\Win64\zmq\backend\__init__.py", line 40, in <module> reraise(*exc_info) File "C:\Users\mark\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.79\scripts\addons\crowdrender\lib\Win64\zmq\utils\sixcerpt.py", line 34, in reraise raise value File "C:\Users\mark\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.79\scripts\addons\crowdrender\lib\Win64\zmq\backend\__init__.py", line 27, in <module> _ns = select_backend(first) File "C:\Users\mark\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.79\scripts\addons\crowdrender\lib\Win64\zmq\backend\select.py", line 26, in select_backend mod = __import__(name, fromlist=public_api) File "C:\Users\mark\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.79\scripts\addons\crowdrender\lib\Win64\zmq\backend\cython\__init__.py", line 6, in <module> from . import (constants, error, message, context, ImportError: DLL load failed: The specified module could not be found. Is there something wrong with the spec of the Asus machine to cause this?
The other 2 machines I'm using (so far) are as follows-
HP Z800, 2 x X 5680 CPU, 88Gb RAM, 2 x GTX970 GPU, Windows 10 Pro
MacbookPro (late 2013), i7-4850HQ CPU, 16Gb RAM, GT750M GPU, Windows 10 Home
All machines running Blender 2.79.
It installs & enables on both, so just the Asus is a non-starter, I'm waiting for a PCIe riser to arrive so I can bodge an external GPU (Quadro FX5800) onto my Dell R510 and try that as well (I also need a GPU to use it as a Fusion render node!).
Cheers
Mark
Hi Mark,
I've responded to you via e-mail, the gist is that you need to update your Asus machine with a windows update and I also just want to check if you've got the latest version as I can see that the version you might be using based on our records could be older than the current 0.1.2 release.
Looking forward to hearing back from you :D
