Hello. I have crowdrender installed on my mac and also on my PC. The mac has Radeon VII card and the PC has 3 x 1080ti's. I was hoping to be able to use crowdrender with Prorender (because its nicer than cycles) but so far it's not really working. I get just a sliver of the image rendered and the rest of the window blank. It works perfectly with Cycles so the setup seems correct. I noticed that in the GPU settings for the remote machine (PC) the 1080's only allow me to choose CUDA even though they work fine with prorender on the PC?

Support Crowdrender!
bottom of page
Hi Roger, thanks for posting, in a word, not yet. We did speak with AMD about this, but they are not offering us support for integration, at least not yet. It takes quite a lot of effort to do this well, so we need their support, and right now our software is going through a major redesign which, although a good thing, is consuming all of our development time.
But bear with us, we definitely want to support other render engines, and other 3d applications as well. What we need is the numbers in terms of lots of users, to get support. Blender has managed to get such support, but they have literally hundreds of thousands of users. We have about 7500 right now! So we're small fry and large companies don't see a compelling reason to help us. But that is likely to change, with growth in blender's users, we're growing too.
Despite this, I hope you'll stick around, and thanks for posting, it puts prorender back on the radar for us to consider, and if we get a lot of people on this thread saying they want it, we'll be sure to make it a higher priority. So, if you like, you can share this thread around with others you think might be interested. We listen to the community, especially in numbers.
All the best
James
