Hello.
Please can you help me with my case telling me whether Crowdrender could help me?:
I've bought recently 16GB more in my main PC so I have now 32GB.
The rest of my PCs have less memory, 16GB,
One of them has a nVIDIA RTX 2060 SUPER but only 16GB of memory RAM.
And other has a nVIDIA GTX 970 with 16GB of Memory RAM.
The main PC is in one city.
The last two are in other city.
Can I connect them and work with my scene which is 1.20GB in HD and can only be rendered in my PC with 32GB of memory RAM? This big scene can't take profit of any of my other two Pcs because of they have no memory RAM enough. I hope that it could be rendered taking advantage of these awesome graphic cards combining their power.
Please help me.
The other doubt is about if they are not in the same LAN. Should I sign up in something like a cloud or something like that? Should I have to pay for it?.
Thanks in advance.
Jose.
Hi!.
Thank you very much for your answer.
I have this SUPER-PROJECT which needs a lot of RAM memory and I fear that I won't can use my two PCs with these graphics cards for this project, but yes for other projects.
I would like to know more how could I mount a VPN and use both PCs from the other city in which I live during the week before the weekend.
And, how should I proceed in order to use those both PCs which are in a city from the other city with a VPN?.
Do you have any tutorial to get ride of it?.
I will can spped up (not for this project) a lot my renders.
Thank you very much for your help.

G'day Jose :) Hope you're doing well.
Ok, that's a lot to get my head around, but I'll do my best ;)
Lets tackle the question of whether the two 16GB computers can help. To render efficiently (or at all on some operating systems) you need to have enough RAM so that the entire scene can fit. If your scene is larger than 16GB then the other computers may not be able to help very much :(.
The reason for this is that if the scene can't be allocated into RAM, then it will either cause an error, or your computer will start to try and use virtual memory, which uses the hard drive. The hard drive is extremely slow compared to RAM and so the render would most likely be much, much slower.
I suspect you probably already knew this though, given that you spent money on upgrading your PC :)
As for connecting between cities. The answer is yes, but.
Yes you can, but, you will likely need to either setup a VPN to connect the two computers together, or, you'll have to change the settings of the router where the other two computers are to allow you to use them.
Let me know if you're interested in learning more about those solutions.]
Finally, we're working on a service, which will cost but not too much, and allow you to connect all your computers, no matter where they are, very easily without needing to configure anything or setup a VPN. If you're interested in that, please let me know, we'd love to find out more about your setup so that we can perhaps give you some early releases to test if you'd like that?
Thanks for posting Jose, welcome to the community, I hope you'll find a way to render great art using our software, we're here if you encounter technical difficulties, and we'll support you as best we can :)
