Ok, so blender 2.78b came out a few days ago, rest assured we're testing this asap. In theory there shouldn't be enough of a difference between 2.78a and 2.78b to cause any issues. I'll update this post once we've made sure that theory is actually the truth!
:)
Hi :), well, my partner Jeremy uses Win 10 64 bit and we've been able to get crowdrender to work with that setup, so maybe its time to look at your logs to see what the specific problem is in your case. If there is a problem, we'll try to patch the new release with it, we're testing tomorrow in preparation for release so it would be great if you can send them as soon as you can!
The log files for crowdrender should be in located in:
*path to your user folder*\cr\logging
you'll see some files with a .log extension called
cr_client.log
client_interface.log
server_interface.log
and maybe
server_session.log (this one shows up if you use the windows 10 machine as a render node.
you can send these files to us as a zip file, the address is [email protected]
We'll take a look and try to get back to you with either a work around or a patch :)
Hi James. I added the addon to my Mac with Blender 2.7c and it seemed fine (Crowd render showed up in the Render panel). However, when I added it to my PC (Win 10, 64 bit) with Blender 2.78c and enabled it, the Crowd render did not show up in the Render panel. Your thoughts?
Hi there! Yes, it works with 2.78c. Though, we're working on a version that has a much better user interface. We've had some feedback that the current release doesn't tell the user enough about what is happening. This new release will be available in the next couple of weeks.
For now, the current 0.1.1 release works with 2.78a, b, and c.
Hope that helps!
:)
OK, as of April, 2017, the current Blender version is 2.78c but the add-on is for 2.78b. Does it work for 2.78c?
