With Blender 2.80 official release candidate and pretty much any version of crowdrender, I can not get my network machines to sync. I can find them and begin to sync but it always fails. Well mostly it fails, sometimes it will work if I just repeatedly hit resync throughout the day. The test scene is in a shared network location and all textures and dependent files are packed in to the scene. I am maybe wrongly maybe correctly assuming this may be a network issue. When I install the add on , I get the start button and allow it through the firewall. I am running all the same versions on both machines I am testing with.

Support Crowdrender!

Hi Craig, the offer is still open to look at this for you. Also we just built a new support system, you can now submit a support request at https://www.crowd-render.com/report-a-problem
Hi Craig, ok, are you able to list the steps I'd need to take to reproduce this error? Normally if I can reproduce the problem on my system, I can guarantee I can get it fixed. There will be another release in the next two weeks to patch some of these bugs so it would be awesome to get this one fixed as well.
You mentioned that you merged in another scene, it would be great to know how you did that, and if possible, if you could send me that scene, that would be great, this will let me reproduce what you had quite closely.
Thanks!
I can take an empty scene, it will connect and sync. But if I then merge in my scene that will not connect I get this error.
Hi Craig,
sorry to hear you are having issues. I am assuming your using the latest version of Crowdrender, which is 0.2.1 at the moment I'm writing this? There are some issues with the code that I am working on right now. they relate to how sync failures are corrected, especially when doing a full resync. There is a problem with the current code that can cause a persistent sync_fail to occur after resyncing.
There is a work around for this in the meanwhile, until a patch release can be issued. To attempt the workaround, first save your project, then resync it. Then either revert or re-open the project file. This must be done with the render nodes connected.
Let me know if this works for you?
Thanks!
