Hello everyone,
Maybe someone can give me a hint as to what I am doing wrong.
- I have 2 computers connected in WIFI to the same router.
- They are part of the same homegroup and can access each other's files.
- Both have WIN10 and Blender 2.79 installed
- Both have Crowrender installed and get the Discovered Network Success message
- When I add the 2nd PC name to the search box in crowrender it is recognised as crowrednder does not ask me for an IP address.
- The sync % goes all the way up to 100% then says : sync failed.
- One thing I have found that is different from the setup video is that under the Network connection tab of crowrender they do not display the same IP, one is 192.168.1.11 abd the other 192.168.1.6. I cannot change this.
Question : is my network setup wrong? I cannot find the individual IP address of theses computers as they are behind the router, can someone help me out here?
Thanks!
JM
I use TightVNC on all three(3) of my stations, with Links on each station that allow me to view the other two. Once this is working well, I am well convinced that 'they' are all talking to each other. I sit at one station, and setup and monitor the other two using VNC. Make sure that 'Sharing' is turned on for the drives on each station as needed. I also use it to check the Task Manager on each station to see CPU and Memory usage. I find it a very useful way to 'know' that 'they' are all talking to each other. Good Luck.
Not working all versions. This 2.80 v. https://monosnap.com/file/TpahyR8jfiOMwMYF6fCwA2D5jtxbPO
also, is it still needed to manually move the cache to the clients?
Hi @ndongンドング 一信 and Jean, I hope you guys are well :) Just to let you know that we're close to releasing 017, would either of you like to test it in pre-release? If so please reply and I will send you download links :)
Thanks for being part of our community :)
Hi @ndongンドング 一信 thanks! And for your security, I deleted the comment you made just a moment ago, didn't think you'd want that in the public domain ;)
Ok, I've logged-in into my cloud account from the add-on, so you should be able to see the error from there if i'm not mistaken.
Hello James,
I made two zip files from the logging directories of the server and one of the slave computer. An e-mail address where I can send them?
Hi @ndongンドング 一信 Do you have any drivers or linked/appended assets that affect the scene?
@ndongンドング 一信 Have you tried simply re-opening the file on your master computer once the file has uploaded?
Hello,
I have the same problem here with the latest version. it works well for small scenes (Blender default scene), but for complicated scenes I get the "sync failed" after reaching 100% for the upload process.
help please...
Hi Jean, thanks! Its a work in progress still, but I will send you an updated version for you to try and see if it solves the sync issues :D
James,
Thank you so much for getting back to me, I was going a bit nuts here, reinstalling things and trying out everything I could think of.
Actually Blender Network Render add-on is working fine so it is not a network issue.
But I would really like to try CrowRender, seems so much cleaner and straightforward.
Looking forward to testing the new build!

Hi Jean,
If you can connect and get the computers to sync to 100% or even start syncing at 1%, then there is nothing wrong with your network setup. The problem is likely due to a bug I have found. When a computer say's sync failed, it is connected fine, what is happening is that the two computers don't agree on the data of your scene.
You're not the only one to have this issue, we've seen it from a few users now and I think I have found a solution for the issue. We'll be issuing an updated build to all of our testers within a week. We're testing the new build right now, thanks for posting about this too!
All the best
James
