Hi,
Installation fails with Crowd Render v 0.1.6 (for 2.79) on my system with Ubuntu 18.04 OS, Blender v 2.79b, and Python v 3.6.7.
The error message is that the 3.5.1, 2 and 3 versions of Python, and 3.6.2, 3, 4 and 5 versions of Python are supported.
Thanks for your help.
Best regards, Jo
Hi @Jo and @aegisgfx, the v017 is now in pre-release testing, we've hopefully fixed this issue as we've redesigned how the addon is packaged for supporting multiple different versions of python. The 016 and previous builds assumed a very small set of python versions based on the official release of 2.79 and the new 2.80 beta. We've now changed this so that blender builds with python versions ranging from 3.5.x, 3.6.x up to 3.7.0 are supported (where x can be any patch revision).
So, please get in touch if you would like a copy of the pre-release v017 addon for both bl 2.78, 2.79b official, 2.79 daily and bl 2.80 beta. I will be happy to send you download links so you can verify this issue is fixed for you :)
Hi @Jo and @aegisgfx :) Ok, the next release should fix this, we've re-designed how the add-on is packaged so it can support a much wider range of python versions. Before we only really supported a narrow range that applied to the official releases of 2.79, but 0.1.7 and onwards (once 01.7 comes out) should be able to support anything from python 3.5.x upwards.
Stay tuned, it won't be long now :)
Same for me, ubuntu 18, blender 2.79 fails on install. It says unsupported version of python, I have 3.6.7
